Wessex is one of the most spectacular ancient landscapes in the country. Wessex beautifully showcases landscape and human evolution  through sites such as the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill, varied white horses and much more recent additions such as saxon churches. There is also evidence of the industrial revolution through the Kennet and Avon Canal with its spectacular long lock systems and lovely traditional barges and narrow boats.

Not only is it historically versatile but there is also a stunning amount of wildlife to be found in the wessex landscape including butterflies and some fantastic species of flowers such as orchids.

Overall it is a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in history or if you are interested in anything else!
